Brian Kettle was a left-back who was captain of Liverpool's reserve team for several years.

However, he was never able to push Alec Lindsay, Joey Jones and Alan Kennedy out of the first team.

He was sold to Wigan, where he only made 14 appearances before going into non-league football.
