Christian Poulsen was signed by Roy Hodgson with a decent pedigree but his stay at Anfield was a brief one as he completed just one season in 2010-11.

He initially joined Liverpool on a three-year deal in August 2010 but finalised a move to French outfit Evian Thonon Gaillard on transfer deadline day, August 31, 2011.

The midfield enforcer arrived at Anfield after a diverse and colourful career that has taken in the Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A prior to arriving in the Barclays Premier League.

After signing from Juventus, Poulsen's debut came in a 1-0 Europa League win over Trabzonspor on August 19, 2010.

He made 21 appearances in a red shirt before a new journey began across the Channel in France.
