Hannah was a forward who played for Liverpool for three seasons in the 1890s.

He made 17 league appearances in the 1894-95 season but his six goals were not enough to prevent an immediate return to the Second Division.

He was called on 11 times the following season as the club won the Second Division championship for the second time in three years and made a further four appearances during the 1896-97 season, one of which saw him score a hat-trick against Sunderland.
