Donald Sloan was reserve keeper to Billy Scott at Everton before making the move across Stanley Park.

He was one of 27 players selected at various stages of the 1908-09 First Division season and stepped in for the six matches that the club's first-choice 'keeper Sam Hardy was unavailable for.

He didn't keep a 'clean sheet' in any of those games and conceded 13 goals, finishing on the winning side just twice.

Sloan left in the summer of 1909 to become player-manager at his old club, Belfast Distillery.
