Liverpool-born Harold Jones made just a single appearance for Liverpool, that coming on the 5th of September 1953 when the Reds played host to Preston North End.

The campaign turned out to be a major disappointment hich culminated in relegation from the First Division.

Preston won 5-1 with Liverpool’s only goal coming from Harold’s namesake Bill. Harold was never selected for the first team again and was given a free transfer at the end of the 1953-54 relegation season.
