Oyvind Leonhardsen was a regular fixture in the side in his first season at Liverpool, but was mainly used as a substitute during his second one.
Leo was an industrious midfielder with an eye for a goal, but Gerard Houllier sold him to Tottenham where he remained for three years, playing 72 games and scoring 11 goals before moving to Aston Villa on a free transfer just before the transfer window closed in 2002.
He only stayed for a year at Villa Park before the midfielder moved back to his homeland in 2004 and joined Lyn in Oslo. A year later he moved to Strømsgodset, where he won the Norwegian first division.
