Liverpool FC Ladies got their first win of the season on Sunday with a morale-boosting 1-0 victory over Birmingham City at the Valley Stadium in Redditch.
Vicky Jones got the decisive goal for the Reds in the fifth minute after a calamitous mix-up in the Birmingham penalty area.
A cross from the left bobbled under Blues keeper Sue Wood to deflect off a defender's heel and fall for the loitering Jones, who made no mistake from two yards.
It was a great performance from Liverpool, who dominated the game from start to finish and could have scored more through the lively Sophie Jones.
The victory puts to an end Birmingham's unbeaten home record and, more importantly, sees the Reds climb to 10th in the FA Tesco Women's Premier League table.
The Ladies take on Everton next at Marine AFC's Rossett Park on Wednesday.
