Alberto Aquilani admits he is relishing the prospect of running out in front of the 'unique' supporters on the Kop.
The Italy international joined Liverpool from AS Roma earlier this month, but will be forced to wait a few more weeks before making his debut for the Reds due to an ankle injury.
However, Aquilani knows it will be a special moment when he finally dons the world famous red jersey at Anfield - and he believes the passion of the fans can help spur him on to reproducing the form that made him a star in Serie A.
"I've heard about the passion of the Liverpool fans," the 25-year-old told LFC Weekly Magazine.
"I've come from Roma where the fans can also be very passionate. As a player you play to satisfy the fans.
"It's a bigger push for the team, the more passionate the fans are. The more they shout, the more you push to play well.
"I can't wait to play in front of the Kop, in front of the Liverpool fans, who are unique to anything else in the world."
Aquilani already has experience of playing at English stadia having figured for Roma in the Champions League against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in recent years.
With that familiarity under his belt, he is now looking forward to sampling the Barclays Premier League's inimitable football atmosphere on a week-to-week basis.
"I've already played in some English stadiums for Roma in the Champions League; the Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford, plus I've played against Tottenham and West Ham in pre-season friendly matches," added Aquilani.
"I've always found there was an amazing atmosphere. Obviously I was always on the away team but the atmosphere was always incredible.
"We don't always have that same atmosphere in Italy and so I'm looking forward to it week in, week out here."
Having spent his entire career at Roma, apart from a loan spell with Triestina, Aquilani acknowledges it was a difficult decision to uproots and leave his hometown club for a new country.
Nevertheless, the lure of Liverpool proved too good to resist - and the midfielder is hoping to write his name into the club's illustrious history by helping the Reds to glory.
"The historical importance of Liverpool was a big draw for me," he said.
"Liverpool is one of the most important clubs in Europe having won five European Cups. What Liverpool has achieved is very important.
"Having a chance to be a part of that and contribute in some way to the great history of the club would be a big attraction for any player."
