Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will send his players into action at Anfield today having warned them it is only a matter of time before Fernando Torres is back to his lethal best.
The Black Cats' manager is well aware of the Spaniard's qualities having been on the receiving end of a two-goal salvo from the Liverpool striker last term.
"Torres is a wonderful player," said Bruce. "He's had an injury - even top, top players can have two or three back to back and struggle getting back.
"It will take time. But make no mistake, he has real quality. Look at last season against us; he took two or three minutes to curl one in the top corner.
"In people like Torres, Gerrard and Joe Cole, Liverpool have players who can hurt you and beat you. We have to be aware of that and ready for that challenge."
