Glen Johnson insists he and his teammates will focus on their upcoming league programme before allowing thoughts of winning a second trophy at Wembley to take centre stage.
Victory in Saturday's all-Merseyside derby means the Reds are set for a third trip to the national stadium in as many months to face Johnson's former club Chelsea.
And while the defender admitted the FA Cup final on May 5 is an attractive prospect for the squad, he knows it will be business as usual at Anfield against West Brom this weekend as Kenny Dalglish's men look to close the gap on neighbours Everton in the league.
"The preparations will be the same as usual," Johnson told TheFA.com. "We've got a game on Sunday against West Brom so we've got to enjoy the win and then we'll look forward to that game before the final.
"We need to take every game as it comes and we've got a few more games before then. It's going to be there in the back of people's minds (the FA Cup final).
"Hopefully we can pick up another trophy."
The full-back also revealed how manager Dalglish praised his players for their efforts after they overturned a one-goal deficit against Everton at Wembley.
"The manager told us that we had great character to bounce back," said Johnson. "We knew we didn't play that great during the first half but they still didn't really cause us many problems. But we were generally happy. We just needed to go out there and show a bit more character."
After winning the first trophy in the English footballing calendar in February, Johnson admitted the squad have been hungry for more success in other cup competitions.
"The lads got a buzz for winning stuff a few months back in the Carling Cup," he said. "Like we've said from the start we'll take each game as it comes and luckily we're in another final."
