Liverpool FC Ladies lost their final game of the season 5-2 at home to Birmingham
Liverpool FC Ladies lost their final game of the season 5-2 at home to Birmingham.
Birmingham proved to be a tough side for the ladies and stormed the first half to lead 5-0 at the break.
After a stern half time team talk from assistant manager Jimmy Sandys the ladies rallied to win the second half 2-0 courtesy of goals from Lou Hastie and Ashley Marshall.
In a boost for the team the game was watched by Liverpool FC Ladies manager John Williams who is easing himself back after a heart attack.
Williams said he was pleased with the ladies progression this season and a mid table finish in the Northern League. The ladies were relegated from the National League last season but Williams, new in charge this season, steadied the ship and the target is promotion next season.
Team v Birmingham: Daly, Old, Sandys, Kehoe, Anderson (McCormack), Hart, Bertie, Schofield (Ryde), Thomas, Hastie, Marshall.
