Sammy Lee admits Liverpool must stop striker Kevin Davies if they are to claim a crucial three points against Bolton on Saturday.
The Reds are unbeaten in the league since Christmas but need a victory over the Trotters to keep pace with top four rivals Man City and Spurs.
Bolton may have a new manager in Owen Coyle but Lee still anticipates a physical game at Anfield - with Davies the main opposition threat
"If you speak to anyone throughout the league they'll tell you Kevin Davies is one of the most aggressive, physical and effective strikers around," Lee told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"He's a great lad, very honest and he plays to his strengths. Hopefully we'll be able to combat that.
"Every new manager likes to stamp his own personality on a team but Owen Coyle has not been there that long. We know they'll be well organised and physical. We'll be aware of their gameplan.
"We're aware of their strengths and weaknesses but really it's about us imposing our game and our gameplan on them. A lot of teams are physical so we don't have to do anything differently."
One man who could be crucial in combating Davies is Sotirios Kyrgiakos, who has added aerial power to the Reds' back four in our last three fixtures.
"Sotirios has been superb," added Lee. "He's a great lad and he's great to have around the place. He's training very hard. He's physical and is obviously very commanding in the air. If there is an aerial threat against Bolton then, if selected, hopefully he'll be able to deal with it."
