Coming in at Number 50 in Liverpool's 100 Most Exciting PL Games is the day Robbie Fowler spoilt the Cantona comeback party.
LFC's Most Exciting PL Games No.50: October 1, 1995. Manchester United 2-2 Liverpool.
All the pre-match talk was about the comeback of Eric Cantona but if it wasn't for a hotly disputed penalty Robbie Fowler might have been the Old Trafford hero.
Manchester United welcomed back their talisman after his suspension for a kung-fu kick on a Crystal Palace supporter and it took him just two minutes to make an impact when his cross fell for Nicky Butt who fired home.
Fowler then equalised just past the half hour mark with a magnificent strike into the top corner of Peter Schmeichel's net.
Then on 52 minutes, Fowler brushed aside Gary Neville down the left and chipped the ball over Schmeichel to give Roy Evans side the lead.
However, after Jamie Redknapp was judged to have fouled Ryan Giggs, Cantona had the last word to make it 2-2 from the spot.
Each weeknight during the summer we'll reveal four more from our countdown from 6pm BST on LFC TV. 11-minute highlights will then be available on LFC TV Online the following morning. LFC TV is available FREE to view on SKY channel 434 and Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack).
