Liverpool will check on the fitness of Glen Johnson before deciding whether he will be involved in Tuesday's Merseyside derby, Kenny Dalglish today confirmed.
The full-back has missed the last two Barclays Premier League outings against Arsenal and Sunderland due to injury and the Reds will assess his condition ahead of Everton's visit to Anfield.
Dalglish told his pre-match press conference: "He's got a niggle, so we'll have to wait and see.
"Sometimes they take longer to clear up than others - you keep thinking you're going to get there, but it doesn't quite happen.
"We'll have to wait and see where he is."
Dalglish will also gauge the condition of the rest of his squad following training at Melwood today - though he does expect Steven Gerrard to be fit having returned from injury as a second-half substitute at Sunderland.
The manager added: "We'll have a look and see. They've not trained yet and there will probably be a couple of bumps and bruises from Saturday.
"What we're going to have for tomorrow night, we'll need to see after training. Steven should be okay."
