Sammy Lee has stressed the importance of the Carling Cup to Liverpool ahead of our fourth round clash at the Emirates.
Wednesday's game with Arsenal is sandwiched between two crucial league games, meaning Rafa Benitez is likely to make changes.
However, Lee insists whatever side is selected will be capable of gaining Liverpool's first ever win at the Emirates Stadium.
The assistant manager told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Every cup competition is important to Liverpool. I don't think you can set your stall out to prioritise one - you tend to end up with egg on your face if you do that.
"We go out to try and win every game whether it is Carling Cup, FA Cup, Premier League or Champions League, so it's a very important competition for us.
"I think you saw last time when the likes of Jay Spearing were given an opportunity. For me, it's another occasion to put out a strong Liverpool side and we will always put out a strong Liverpool side.
"Depending on who the personnel is, it'll still be a side we feel can go on and further our aims in that competition.
"To play any Arsenal team, in any competition, is always going to be a hard game. It's going to be a very attractive match and one we're all looking forward to.
"We know the difficulties we're going to face, but I'm sure they were thinking the same when we were drawn against them."
