Tom Ince has revealed how a post on Facebook alerted him to the news that Jack Robinson had become the youngest Liverpool player in history.
The U18s winger heard the news of his teammate's call-up to the first-team squad en route to their final match of the season at Huddersfield on Saturday morning, but it wasn't until the following evening that he realised the 16-year-old had made a brief cameo at Hull City.
"It was really strange," he told Liverpoolfc.tv. "When we left for our game against Huddersfield on Saturday, we were all asking where Jack was. Then someone told us he was in the first-team squad and we were all made up for him.
"I originally thought they must have had a few injuries but on Sunday I was looking on Facebook and saw someone had posted a congratulations to Jack.
"I was amazed and hadn't had a clue that he had played. I put Match of the Day on and saw him come off the bench. It's a massive step - 16 years old and now the youngest player to have ever played for Liverpool.
"I think he deserves it because if you are good enough you are old enough. Hopefully in the years ahead he will continue to develop into the player we know he can be."
