Arsene Wenger has vowed his players will bounce back from Tuesday night's defeat by Newcastle.
Sunday's trip to Anfield has become a key fixture in this season's Premiership title race for the Gunners, but Wenger believes the players are ready to go out and win the game.
Wenger said: "Losing to Newcastle will not stop my team from going forward. We know how big the Liverpool game is and we also know how well we can perform.
"We are ready to fight at Anfield. The team has got great belief and determination. It is down to us. We were very disappointed after the Newcastle game, but there were a lot of positives to take from the way we played, particularly in the first half.
"I live with this group of players and although they were disappointed they have not been kicked down and out.
"We are going to Liverpool to win the game and I will try everything I can to go into the match with the needed belief. It is a big test, but we will show our character."
It will also be a personal first for Wenger, who has not enjoyed many happy games at Anfield in the past.
He added: "I have never won there as a manager so it will be a good time to start on Sunday. It is a crucial game for us, but I believe we will respond to the test."
Patrick Vieira misses the game through suspension, but Freddie Ljungberg is available again following a back injury. Stuart Taylor will retain his place in goal even though Richard Wright is again nearing full fitnessand might be on the substitute's bench.
