The draw for the Europa League could have been kinder but the test against Benfica should be a great occasion, writes Ian Rush.
It is the kind of tie that captures your imagination, two big European teams going head-to-head with big rewards awaiting the winners.
I have happy memories of playing Benfica during my career and we knocked them out of the European Cup in consecutive seasons in the mid-1980s; I scored a hat-trick in one game at Anfield.
We also won 4-1 in the Stadio De Luz but I doubt there will be a repeat of that scoreline on this occasion.
Benfica have been the Europa League's form team but you would discount Liverpool at this stage at your peril; Europe brings the best out of these players and I expect it to do so again.
