Rafa Benitez was pleased to see Liverpool return to winning ways as they eased to a 4-1 victory over Portsmouth at Anfield.
The Reds bounced back from their defeat to Wigan seven days previous, to beat Pompey and put themselves firmly back in contention for fourth spot.
Two goals from Fernando Torres, a Ryan Babel strike and Alberto Aquilani's first goal for the club were enough for Liverpool to seal victory, with Nadir Belhadj adding nothing more than a mere consolation for the visitors.
"It was a good game. We were trying to play well for the fans and score goals," said Benitez.
"It was an important goal in an important week."
Benitez was happy with Aquilani's display as he made a rare appearance in central midfield.
"It was really good for Aquilani and really good for the team," he said.
"He has shown he has quality and he will have more confidence and that is good.
"We have seen a lot of players playing well today and that is good for me because it gives me more (selection) problems."
