Liverpool are intending to capitalise on the current financial problems of Serie A giants AC Milan by making a tempting offer for young striker M'Baye Niang, but they will have to fight off competition from Spurs if they hope to bring him on board, according to Sports Direct News.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has instructed his team of European scouts to fly out to Montpellier to check him out in action as the French giants manager to secure his signature on loan for the rest of the season.
And should the scouts bring back a positive report then the Norther Irishman will look to open discussions with the Milanese giants over a possible transfer.
Niang has represented France at every rung of the youth ladder and has attracted the attentions of a number of top European sides this season despite not featuring as regularly for the struggling Italian side as he did last term.
Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal all attempted to snap him up during his time with Caen, but Milan managed to beat them all to his signature.
However, under previous manager Massimiliano Allegri chances came few and far between, but he still has a series of admirers in the Premier League.
