Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a move for Djurgarden IF defender Daniel Amartey and the player claims talks are underway.
The 18-year-old has caught the eye of many clubs across Europe with some outstanding displays and Rodgers is planning a cut-price swoop on the youngster who is seen as one for the future.
Although his agent would not comment on reports that he has been linked with Liverpool, the player himself was not as coy and he admitted he would be delighted if a move came off.
"I have been in contact with the Liverpool management," he said.
"I hope we can sort a transfer out - it's a great club to play for."
Amartey's agent, Patrick Dark, would not comment on any Liverpool approach but did claim there was plenty of interest in the Ghana-born defender who can also operate in midfield.
