Liverpool are understood to be close to completing a deal to sign Atletico Madrid full-back Javier Manquillo on loan.
The 20-year-old has struggled to get into the Atletico first team on a regular basis, with his path blocked by veteran Juanfran and Dutch international Toby Alderweireld.
Chief executive Ian Ayre has been in the Spanish capital this week and it's believed terms have been agreed between the two clubs over a season-long loan for Manquillo, a former Real Madrid youth player.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are still hopeful of securing the services of Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno, who has been a player towards the top of Brendan Rodgers' wanted list all summer.
Moreno, who was in the provisional Spain World Cup squad but didn't travel to Brazil, was the subject of a £16million bid from the Reds back in May. That was rejected, but Liverpool are willing to increase their offer in order to secure a deal.
