Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is eyeing a £6million January move for Twente striker Lus Castaignos as he bids to bolster the squad.
Rodgers is understood to be keen on enhancing his striking options in the upcoming transfer window and believes that the highly-rated forward could be the way to go.
The Reds have been one of the in-form teams in the top flight this term but Rodgers believes he needs more options to ensure they can continue to push for a top-four finish.
The 21-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Anfield two years ago but Serie A giants Inter Milan moved to snap up his services.
The Holland U21 international only went on to make six appearances for the Italian outfit before being shipped off to Twente, where he has seen much more time on the pitch.
It is expected that the Merseyside club will have to part with £6million to lure the forward away from the Eredivisie side but after scoring seven times in 14 games this term, Rodgers feels it could be worth the gamble.
