Joe Cole's move from Liverpool to Spurs is set to go through this week after the two clubs agreed a £3million fee.
The midfielder, 29, struggled with injuries and poor form at Anfield last season following his free-transfer switch from Chelsea 12 months ago and is set to be offloaded by the Reds this summer.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp remains a big fan of Cole, who he nurtured as a youngster when they were both at West Ham, and wants to take him to Tottenham this summer despite his less-than-successful spell on Merseyside.
Reports claim the two clubs have already agreed a £3million fee and a deal could go through this week, provided Cole passes a tough medical and agrees personal terms.
The England international is believed to be keen on a return to London and will push for a move to Spurs even though he will have to take a considerable pay cut from what he earns at Anfield.
