It seems that no-one wants to win the Premier League this season. There have been some ridiculous results and it’s been quite astonishing, writes Phil Thompson in the Liverpool Echo.
At one point it looked like Chelsea were going to run away with the title, now they've lost three of their last four in the league.
Arsenal seemed to be finding their feet and then threw away a 2-0 lead at home to Spurs.
The Emirates is usually a fortress but they've already lost three at home having also been beaten by West Brom and Newcastle.
The only consistent team has been Manchester United and they've been consistently average. They have plodded along, drawing seven of their 14 games, but haven't really impressed.
Win a game and you move up six places, lose and you drop down six.
It's incredible and I've never seen anything like it.
This season the title could be won with the lowest points total ever and it's going to be a real bun fight down the bottom. What it means is that if we can put a run together we can still finish in the top four.
It makes for great viewing but I'm not sure we can say the Premier League is the best in the world in terms of the standard of football.
Maybe it's averaging out because we've seen some of our top players move abroad, while apart from Manchester City nobody is spending money.
The reason the Premier League is still unbeatable is because of the emotion, drive, determination and passion our matches create.
It's still the best but that's down to the fans, not the players.
