Liverpool are trying to hijack Juventus' move for Brazilian goalkeeper Neto - according to the player's agent Stefano Castagna.
Neto has already announced he will be leaving Fiorentina when his contract expires at the end of the season - and Juve see the 25-year-old as the latest understudy for the 37-year-old, but still peerless, Gianluigi Buffon.
But Neto wants regular first team football and agent Castagna denied claims that Juve have already agreed terms.
"The only thing that is official is that Neto will not be staying in Florence," Castagna told Gazzetta TV.
"Since February 1, when it became possible to talk to other clubs, we've been evaluating offers that are interesting for the lad, in England, Germany and Spain in addition to Italy.
"One of those in England is Liverpool, and then there is a top Spanish club interested in him. Right now, the lad has to make a well pondered decision for his career.
"He's young and he's grown a great deal, but even when he was 18 he was one of the best in Brazil."
Brazil national team coach Dunga has advised Neto against becoming an understudy in Turin.
Castagna added: "If you decide to join a top club then it's obvious you're competing with other good goalkeepers, but if you join one of the top 10 clubs in Europe, then it's an opportunity you've obviously got to fight for."
Neto would become Liverpool's second Brazilian goalkeeper, after the £3.5m capture of Diego Cavalieri in the summer of 2008.
He made 10 appearances for Liverpool and won his first full international cap in a 2-1 defeat in Argentina in 2012, but could not displace Pepe Reina from the Reds goal, moving to Cesena in Italy and then returning to his homeland at Fluminese.
Norberto Murara Neto joined Fiorentina in 2010 from Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense for £1.5m.
Renowned for his shot-stopping abilities he is currently rated in the £6m bracket, but becomes a free agent in the summer.
He has two U23 caps for Brazil and was a part of the Selecao's silver medal winning 2012 Olympic Games squad.
He has made 20 Serie A appearances this season, but was only introduced into the Europa League side after Fiorentina had reached the knockout stages.
