Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez, who has emerged as a transfer target for Liverpool, is currently holding talks with an unnamed Premier League club, his agent has confirmed after arriving in London.
Ramirez, 21, is in England in order to represent Uruguay at the Olympics and is simultaneously attempting to broker a transfer that would see him stay and play in the Premier League next season.
The midfielder has also been tracked by Manchester United and Manchester City, but Liverpool held initial talks over a deal with Bologna last month and could be at the head of the queue, although the presence of his agent in the capital suggests that Tottenham and Arsenal could also be keen.
"Gaston is ready to leave Italy - so much so I am in London for talks with a Premier League club,' agent Pablo Betancourt told Calcio Mercato. "He is one of the most important players in Uruguay, so there are no shortage of offers."
The winger scored eight goals for Bologna in Serie A last season to help them to a ninth-placed finish and has a price tag that has already scared off Inter Milan.
Betancourt said: "Inter like the player but we are very far off from what Bologna are asking for him - nearly €25 million.
"The Wolfsburg interest? They were the first to move on Ramirez, but some of the figures are impossible for them too."
