Liverpool are desperate to beat Manchester United to the signing of Memphis Depay.
And the Reds have been watching Depay every week in Holland, according to talkSPORT.
The Holland winger - who impressed during the World Cup - is on Louis van Gaal's radar.
The two worked together for the national team in Brazil where Depay scored twice as a substitute.But Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan told talkSPORT Liverpool want the 21-year-old.
He said: "People think Louis van Gaal will take him, but the fact that Liverpool scouts are in Eindhoven almost every week to watch the player signals to me that Liverpool are a strong contender for the boy."
