And the Reds have made the first move in a bid to land Lallana early.According to the BBC, Liverpool have lodged a bid for the Saints skipper.
Lallana revealed his desire to play Champions League football before his side's 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.
"I'm ambitious. I want to one day play in the Champions League," he said in his pre-match programme notes.
United are keen on the 26-year-old, while City and Chelsea have also been linked with the midfielder.
