Liverpool will turn their attentions to securing a more realistic target in Wilfried Bony.
Reports claim Brendan Rodgers has given-up hope in landing a stellar marquee signing this summer, and will instead opt for Swansea' £20m-rated striker.
Though admittedly a less glamorous option, Bony has an outstanding goalscoring record and is more than capable of fulfilling the onerous task of representing Liverpool.
Swansea have reiterated their unwillingness to lose Bony, but declining a fee in the region of £20m seems unlikely - especially considering it represents a £8m profit on a player bought 13-months ago.
