Napoli could reportedly lose Gonzalo Higuain should they fail to make the Champions League, with Liverpool and Arsenal ready to swoop.

The Partenopei were defeated at Roma on Saturday, and are now eight points behind Lazio in the third and final Champions League spot.

According to Calciomercato, Rafa Benitez's men must now put everything into winning the Europa League, which also offers qualification for the competition, or Higuain could leave in the summer.

The Argentinian striker was known to be angry about not being in Europe's premier club competition this season, and it is unlikely the former Real Madrid man would accept another season without Champions League football.

The website reports that Arsenal and Liverpool in the English Premier League would be among the clubs interested, although Liverpool themselves face a struggle to make the Champions League.
