English Premier League side Liverpool are said to be interested in AC Milan's Nigel De Jong.
The midfielder's recent performances have attracted the interest of Liverpool as the Reds look to climb into the Premier League's top three.
Sports Direct News reports that whilst Milan may be unwilling to sell the player immediately, that a six month loan with a buy option could entice the Rossoneri.
The former Manchester City player transferred to Milan in 2012 after losing game time at the English club.
Since then, De Jong has gone on to make over 40 appearances for the Milanese team, being a regular starter.
Liverpool currently sit fourth in the league and see De Jong as the ideal player to play in front of the defence in the team's 4-3-3 formation.
Milan may be unwilling to sell the player due to the impressive performances he has been putting in for the Rossoneri this season.
De Jong has made 18 appearances in Serie A this season, bagging three assists.
