Liverpool are preparing to make a summer move for Rasmus Elm after sending their top scout to run the rule over the Sweden international, it has been claimed.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been impressive form for AZ Alkmaar this season, and found the net for the Eredivisie outfit on ten occasions before the turn of the year.
Elm has 12 goals in total for Alkmaar this term, and his performances have seemingly attracted the attention of Liverpoool.
According to The People, former Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli sent talent-spotter Steve Hitchen to compile a report on Elm, a week before he was relived of his duties at Anfield.
However, the departure of Comolli will reportedly not extinguish any interest Liverpool have and Elm, and Kenny Dalglish is keen to bring the £7 million-rated Swede to Merseyside.
Elm would provide Liverpool with greater cut and thrust in midfield, with the Reds having struggled for goals from this area over the course of the season.
