Liverpool are being linked with Hamburg winger Eljero Elia.

The Dutch winger has been a long-term target at Liverpool since his days with FC Twente.

ELF Voetbal says Elia's minders are now convinced a move to Anfield could be on if Liverpool sell Ryan Babel in January.

Until recently, Steve McClaren's Wolfsburg were favourites for the midfielder, but Liverpool have made their interest known.

Everything will depend on Babel, who has already seen Birmingham fail with a new loan offer for him this week.
