World Cup finalist Klaas Jan Huntelaar has revealed a move to England will be his top priority if he is not given assurances he will start more games at AC Milan next season.
And the 26-year-old Dutch striker is hoping his contribution in Holland's run to the final will trigger renewed interest from clubs like Tottenham, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester United who all made checks last season.
Huntelaar has been used from the bench by the Dutch but he remains an integral part of the Holland squad.
Since his 18million pounds move to the San Siro last August, after an ill-fated brief spell at Real Madrid, Huntelaar has gone from being a scoring sensation at Ajax to a bit-part player for Milan.
As he prepared for today's monumental battle with Spain, the Dutch striker insisted he has had enough of being played out of position in Italy and would jump at the chance to play in England even for a club not in the Champions League next season.
"My first focus is on the final and then after that it will be on AC Milan so we will see what happens when I get back to Italy," said Huntelaar.
"But the truth is I want to play football - I don't want to be just sitting on the bench - so we will see what happens.
"Of course, the Champions League is important and every player wants to play there but the most important thing for me is simply to play.
"That is the number one priority."
Huntelaar's goal record in Holland, where he scored 76 times in 92 games, made him a target for English clubs but they lost out first to Madrid and then AC Milan.
The Dutchman's career has stalled again in Serie A despite seven goals in 21 games and he admits: "I have been played on the right but it's not my position playing there. I am a striker not a winger."
