Martin Kelly has soothed a potential headache for Roy Hodgson after he was declared fit to take his place in Liverpool’s squad for tomorrow’s clash with Blackpool.
The Reds boss was facing a massive problem at left-back as the specialists in the position Paul Konchesky (hamstring) and Fabio Aurelio (Achilles tendon) are definitely out.
Aside from that, Daniel Agger has not recovered from the groin problem which ruled him out of the squad that travelled to Utrecht on Thursday.
Hodgson had been worried that Kelly, who can fill in at left-back, would also miss out after picking up a knock in the 0-0 Europa League draw.
However, the England Under-21 international trained with the squad at Melwood yesterday and Kelly is now expected to make his first start in the Barclays Premier League.
