Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt is hoping to have some positive news regarding his contract extension in the coming weeks.
Although the Holland international has over another year to run on his Anfield deal, talks are under way to extend his Merseyside stay.
Kuyt is a popular figure having amassed over 220 appearances for the club following his 2006 switch from Feyenoord.
The 30-year-old is pleased with how things are progressing and believes a resolution could be found inside the next two weeks.
"It is already looking positive and hopefully I will have some good news in one or two weeks," confirmed Kuyt.
Kuyt was Liverpool's hero in the Europa League with a late headed goal in Thursday's 1-0 success over Sparta Prague.
It was Kuyt's first goal since the middle of January when he netted in the Merseyside derby and he thinks he was overdue.
"Although we created the chances, we found it hard to score," he continued.
"It was kind of a hard game and I felt we should have finished it off earlier.
"But at the end of the day, winning is all that counts.
"I thought it was about time for me to score a goal. It has been a while."
Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher clocked up his 137th European appearance against Prague and he won has praise from manager Kenny Dalglish.
That means that Carragher has now played more European games than any other British player, a record Dalglish believes the Kop legend should be proud of.
"That record sums up his contribution to the football club," said the Reds manager. "He has been a magnificent servant to this club.
"He has been here since he was 12 and for him to walk away with that record of playing more European games is a credit to him and shows the success we've have over the years."
