Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena has revealed his desire to play in the Premier League one day and re-igniting rumours he is set for a move to Liverpool.
Valbuena, who is currently been preparing to face England in a friendly at Wembley tomorrow, has been linked to the Premier League before and could make the move soon if his comments are anything to go by.
The 26-year-old reportedly impressed former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez after playing against the Anfield side on numerous occasions in European competition.
And now, with Liverpool's new director of football strategy Damian Comolli compiling a short list of transfer targets for January, the Reds' will re-new their interest.
Frenchman Comolli's list seems to be almost exclusively made up of his compatriots, including Yann M'Vila and Dimitri Payet, and Hodgson will have a trip to Wembley lined up to run the rule over the trio of players.
It is no secret Liverpool are looking to bolster their squad in order to improve on their current position and Valbuena could give them the spark they seem to need.
He said: "My dream is to play in the Premier League, by far the best league in the world. England is a nation where football was invented, and it shows."
