Liverpool have been linked with a shock summer move for Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega.
The Premier League forward has impressed since moving to England in 2009, and now Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is contemplating a move when the transfer window re-opens this summer.
Wigan signed Rodallega from Mexican league side Necaxa, where the forward had an impressive scoring ratio of almost a goal every other game in his two years at the club.
A deadline day switch in January saw Rodallega join Steve Bruce's side for €4.8 million, and he ironically made his debut against the Reds.
An instant hit with the Latics faithful, Rodallega maintained his place in the side despite the exit of Bruce and arrival of Roberto Martinez.
The 24-year-old has impressed so far in the current campaign too, and scored the winner against Liverpool in the Premier League fixture earlier this month.
Anfield boss Benitez has been linked with a host of strikers over the past months, with Kenwyne Jones and Gonzalo Higuain just two players reportedly on the Spaniard's wish list.
Rodallega is aware of the speculation though, moving to distance himself from the rumours of a potential move.
"There are many rumours about several teams but nothing is concrete until the market opens for players in June," said the Colombian international.
"We're talking about a very large, very established top club that is practically historical in England."
