Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for young Belgian starlet Kevin De Bruyne, according to reports.
The Racing Genk striker has been coveted by a number of clubs across Europe in the past 12 months, with Arsenal and Manchester City thought to be in the race for the player at some stage.
However, Liverpool appeared to be in pole position to secure the player's signature back in September, when both clubs were negotiating a collaboration agreement which would see the Reds get first option on any potential transfers.
Reds' interest had since cooled after an agreement was never reached, but now Sportingo claim Liverpool are 'back in the race' for the player and could go head-to-head with City boss Roberto Mancini for the signature.
Damien Comolli, director of football at Anfield, is thought to be aware of the 19-year-old's talent and is monitoring the situation closely as he considers a Liverpool move.
Comolli has been working closely alongside Kenny Dalglish with regards to transfer targets, with the Merseysiders looking to invest in young talent and build for the future under the guidance of owners Fenway Sports Group.
With a variety of targets in a number of positions on the radar, Liverpool are keen to bring young talent to the club and De Bruyne would fit the bill should the Reds manage to secure the signature.
