Liverpool join the chase for Chilean hotshot

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is in the race for Chile striker Eduardo Vargas - and is ready to join a transfer window auction.

Dalglish sent a top spy to watch the Universidad de Chile star in action last weekend and Vargas's camp claim they are now in talks about a January move.

Vargas is rated in the £15million class and the Kop's interest comes as a shock after splashing out on Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in that department this year.
