Liverpool are rumoured to be plotting a £9 million bid for Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim Afellay.
The north-west side are reportedly keen to sign the Dutch player, who is said to be unhappy about his lack of first-team action at Barca.
Dutch sources claim the Reds will be targeting the player, who only moved to the Catalan side months ago, this summer, reports caughtoffside.com.
The 24-year-old will reportedly leave the club for a fee of £2 million if Pep Guardiola is amenable to the offer.
Liverpool were interested in Afellay as he reached the end of his contract with PSV Eindhoven, but the attacking midfielder opted for a move to Barca.
Afellay has played just 287 minutes of first-team football since arriving at the Catalan side, making only three starts, two of which were in the Copa del Rey.
Sources claim an offer of around £9 million could convince Barca to sell the player.
