Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on Everton youngster Seamus Coleman and are planning an audacious bid when the January transfer window opens.
According to caughtoffside.com, Reds director of football Damien Comolli has targeted a move for the 23-year-old right-sided player while manager Kenny Dalglish is also thought to be a fan.
Liverpool have been on the look-out for right-sided reinforcements and will reportedly try to take advantage of fierce rivals Everton's financial insecurity to launch a bid for Coleman.
The Republic of Ireland international broke into the Toffees first-team last season and has since established himself as an important member of the team. His consistency over the past 18 months has caught the eye of a number of interested clubs with Manchester United also suggested as a potential suitor.
If Coleman were to move across the city to Liverpool, it would surely cause a stir. However, the fact that David Moyes must raise funds before he can recruit new players could be a predicament that Everton supporters sympathise with.
