Liverpool starlet set for permanent switch

Leicester have opened talks with Liverpool about keeping Jay Spearing permanently.

Versatile midfielder Spearing, 21, impressed for Championship City after arriving on loan in March from Anfield.

And Foxes boss Nigel Pearson wants to keep the starlet next season either on loan or permanently after his team lost in the play-off semi-finals.

Liverpool have already agreed to let Spearing return on loan but may even be tempted to sell him.
