Liverpool are reportedly still in the hunt for Welsh international Wayne Hennessey.
The Wolves stopper was linked with a move to Anfield when Rafa Benitez was in charge of the club, but Liverpool are still being linked with a move for the 23-year-old.
Hennessey started his youth career at Manchester City before moving to Molineux as a junior in 2003. He signed professional forms two years later, but was loaned out to Bristol City to gain first-team experience in the summer of 2006.
He returned to the Midlands club after just two appearances, with the one-month deal cut short due to injury.
A loan spell at Stockport proved productive, with Hennessey breaking Football League records during a nine-game clean sheet streak between January and March '07.
Injuries to first-choice 'keeper Matt Murray gave Hennessey his chance on return to Wolves, featuring in the play-offs at the end of that campaign and becoming first choice for the club the following season.
International recognition followed the successful '06-'07 campaign, with Hennessey making his debut for Wales against New Zealand in the summer.
A starring role in Wolves' Championship promotion campaign was followed by a chance in the Premier League, but Hennessey lost his place as No.1 to American Marcus Hahnemann and finished the campaign on the bench behind the veteran.
The Daily Mail reports that the Reds are still keen to bring Hennessey to Anfield, despite the departure of their former Spanish manager.
A £2million bid was reportedly rejected previously by Mick McCarthy's side, and the Merseyside club will have to table a bigger offer if they are to secure a 'keeper seen as a solid understudy to Spanish star Pepe Reina.
