Liverpool are considering a loan bid for AC Milan's Nigel de Jong.
Holland midfielder De Jong has Premier League experience having made 139 appearances for Manchester City, with whom he won the title in 2012.
New Milan manager and compatriot Clarence Seedorf, however, may be reluctant to sanction a move.The 29-year-old has been a regular for the Milan club but could be tempted to return to England.
De Jong has played 69 times for Holland and produced one of the most infamous moments in World Cup history with his kung-fu kick on Spain's Xabi Alonso in 2010 final.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been given the green light to sign FC Basle winger Mohamed Salah but faces competition from a number of clubs for the £8million man.
Rodgers has led his side to fourth in the Premier League but Tottenham, Everton and Manchester City are hot on Liverpool's heels.
