Liverpool's Premier League stalemate with Tottenham came to a sudden halt after a stray cat ran onto the famous Anfield turf.
The small moggy beat Spurs' offside trap before making a darting run into the opposition penalty area, much to the bemusement of American goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
The game was temporarily suspended in the 11th minute of the Monday night encounter when referee Michael Oliver spotted the fleet-footed feline run onto the pitch and blew his whistle to stop play.
The cat managed to evade capture for over a minute, much to the amusement of Kop boss Kenny Dalglish, before a steward scooped up the problematic cat and escorted it off the premises.
Sky Sports' Alan Parry, commentating on the game, said: 'A little cat has just found its way onto the pitch at Anfield. Can it find its way off again?
'He's not leaving that's for sure. How on earth does a cat get into a football stadium?'
The clip already has over 25,000 views on video sharing site YouTube with one user claiming it was 'the highlight of the match' after the game finished goalless.
