Liverpool want to rescue Hatem Ben Arfa from his Newcastle United turmoil by signing him at the end of the season.
Ben Arfa has fallen out with Magpies boss Alan Pardew, who has now banned him from first-team training as part of a long-standing row that shows no signs of ending.
The 27-year-old says he still hopes to stay on Tyneside, but the situation does not look good, and Liverpool are now ready to move in for the winger.
According to reports, Brendan Rodgers will offer £6million to tempt Newcastle into doing business, with the Anfield club hopeful a deal can be agreed.
Ben Arfa was linked with the Reds last summer, but he signaled his intention to sign a new contract with Newcastle, before a row broke out with Pardew over his behaviour.
