Metro: Reds in advanced talks to sign Pato

Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato, according to reports.

Pato, who is currently on-loan at Sao Paulo, is a target for a host of European sides when he returns to his parent club in the new year.

Arsenal are already confirmed to be in talks, while Tottenham have also been linked, but Don Balon suggests Pato is closer to Liverpool.

The outlet says Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign the 26-year-old who is also mentioned as a possible option for Barcelona.

Pato has scored 26 goals this season.
