Liverpool are reportedly targeting Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his defence over the summer.
The Reds look certain to secure a spot in next season's Champions League, as they sit 11 points clear of fifth-placed Everton, and Rodgers is keen to add European experience to his squad.
Boateng, 25, signed a contract extension in December until 2018 and, having played a crucial role in guiding the Bavarian giants to the Bundesliga league title earlier this week, it would take a huge offer to prise him away from the Allianz Arena.
The German international has made 28 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side in all competitions this term, but Rodgers is eyeing big targets ahead of another title challenge next term.
Rumours have also surfaced over Rodgers' interest in Inter Milan's Mateo Kovacic, as well as out-of-contract Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole.
